Ch 2, Part 2: Outbreak

A Damsel in Distress

The heroes escort Trinia to the outlying village of Harse; the three day by horseback is uneventful and Trinia is safely dropped off at the Blackbird Ranch. There they meet Jason Adriel, an old adventuring partner of Vencarlo. Mandraiv contemplates making a move on Trinia but decides its not worth his time.

Outbreak

The heroes return to Korvosa to find a city in quarantine. They stop by the Church of Saranrae to find it inundated with the sick. There are more victims then there are a spells and the churchs of Korvosa seem to be powerless to stop the ravages of the plague.They also learn that the plague has been most concentrated in High Point and Old Korvosa.

The heroes visit Field Marshall Kroft and arrive just in time to see her addressing her guard. She is instructing them to obey the commands of the Queen's physicians and her new personal guard, the Grey Maidens. The heroes are then introduced to the Queen's physician, Doctor Davaulus who was called upon by the Queen (from distant Chelliax) to save her city. He seems sincere and is busy discussing plans with the field marshal to save the city.

The heroes also receive a job from the Field Marshal to investigate reports of body bearers failing to deliver the dead from Old Korvosa

The Hungry Dead

The heroes track down the source of missing bodies, where they discover some vampires living in a adjacent shop. The heroes of course kill them and find the body of the owner in the shop. They also discover a key to safety deposit box at the Bank Of Abadar

They then visit the bank where Grit intimidates his way through a crowd of people seeking healing. Inside they gain access to the safety deposit book where they reward themselves with its contents. They also purchase restoration healing for Artox and are then given a job by the duty priest. To investigate claims that someone has found a cure for the disease.

The Colour of Death

The heroes investigate a perfume seller by the name of Vendra who is selling cures for 2gp. After some investigation they discover she is fraud and manage to secure enough evidence to support their claims. They report this to the Bank of Abadar but Vendra is long since gone. Nevertheless her fraudulent scheme is ended.
