Noval Sol'Antinium.

Once initiate of the Abudar order,
Once heir of the Antinium Estate,
Outcast.

Life was safe and secure in my families house in Midland Korvosa. My parents were proud of my studies for the order, and my father was a smart businessman. We weren't wealthy by any means, but we were doing well.  We would spend nights talking about the rise of nobility, the royals, family crests and all the different coloured shields of Korvosa.

That was until one night when I came downstairs and saw my father talking a shadowy figure outside. I couldn't hear what they were talking about and it was never spoken of, but something changed in him that night, changed forever.

The next morning, I awoke to my mothers screams. My younger brother had gone missing.
My father insisted that we couldn't go to the authorities and showed me a ransom note. He told me everything would be alright and sent me off to my studies.

In the great hall, all the other students were discussing points of Law or the Clergy but I was unable to concentrate and confided in Brother Mikael. I had hardly finished my story when the town guard marched in. I heard my name and saw someone point, and then it was like time had stopped and all sound blurred together. It was surreal. I was accused, no FRAMED ! of a murder and sent to prison. I don't know how long I was there, a week or 2, maybe a month, maybe 2, but when I was released all they said was 'sorry', and closed the door behind me.

I soon learned that time doens't stand still. My mother had gone missing and my father was found floating in the vaults, a leg missing and a knife wound in his back. My neighbours wouldn't tell me any more before they closed the door in my face, being careful not to be seen speaking with me.
It seems my Family estate is being held by the govenor, and without food, shelter, money or family I turned to the only thing I had left, my faith.

"I travelled far these past 3 years but I never forgot Kovosa." "for you see barkeep, I was kicked out of the greath hall, but I have still learned Abudar's teachings and laws, and learned to sing for my supper." "I have a talent for song some might say, and I can mend a sore head or two in the morning" I add as a smile breaks out on the barkeeps face.

"Sure Lad, put yur gear out the back. Maddine will find you a room later." "You can sing all you like, 'slong as we don't have a proper bard in the house. On those days you can tend bar with me."
He shakes his head as a good deep chuckle fills the room "but do me a favour 'Sol', take that darn armour off, way to ... 'religious'.. for our patrons I'm thinking" ...

.... To be continued ...
